South Carolina Supreme Court Updates Rules

The South Carolina Supreme Court updates rules from time to time. The process involves submitting proposed changes to the South Carolina Genearl Assembly and, if no action is taken within 90 days, the rule changes become effective. On January 31, 2019, the following orders were submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to Article V, § 4A of the South Carolina Constitution:

(1) An order amending Rule 3 and Rule 5 of the South Carolina Court-Annexed Alternative Dispute Resolution Rules.

(2) An order amending Rule 4(c) of the South Carolina Court-Annexed Alternative Dispute Resolution Rules.

(3) An order amending Rule 13(a) of the South Carolina Rules of Criminal Procedure.

(4) An order amending Rule 33(b)(9) of the South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure.
