The South Carolina Supreme Court has issued
directions concerning court operations during May 4 through June 12, 2020. Chief
Justice Beatty's memorandum outlines the need to maintain a degree
of uniformity and reconizes the essential role the judicial branch plays
in government.
The memo states: "The South Carolina Judicial Branch remains dedicated
to fulfilling its role in the government of this state. Our resolve to
do so will not waver during times of crisis."
Clerks of Court and judges will begin scheduling dockets as is practical
and are to adhere to guidance provided in a prior April 22, 2020 order
of the Supreme Court.
