The South Carolina Supreme Court announced today that various rule changes
for the South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure and South Carolina Court-Annexed
Alternative Dispute Resolution Rules became effective.
Rule 10 is amended to clarify the formating of filed papers and pleadings.
Rule 11 is amended as to clarify when an electronic signature of attorney
may be used.
Rule 23 is amended related to residual funds in class aciton matters.
There were various other amendments made to the Alternative Dispute Resolution rules.
The updated rules will be contained in Justin Kahn’s 2016 Rules of
Procedure Annotated book to be published by the South Carolina Bar CLE Division.
